Site Supervisor

LEAP: Learn. Engage. Advocate. Partner is seeking an experienced and dedicated Site Supervisor to join our Children’s Center team.

In addition to Site Supervisor (Site Sup) responsibilities, the Site Sup will support directly in classrooms with teaching staff as needed. The following duties are assigned to assist the Program Director/Assistant Director to implement the program and administrative functions of the Isla Vista Children’s Center:

  • Assisting in daily operations of the Children’s Center.
  • Communicate with families and staff through CareConnect.
  • Communicates with Program Director and Assistant Director on significant matters of concern such as health and safety of children, parents, staff or self.
  • Ensures facility health standards are met in classrooms and outdoor play areas. Assigns cleaning and disinfecting bathroom and diaper changing area.
  • Follows procedures for child abuse reporting as mandated by law.
  • Work collaboratively and collectively with other agencies, including school district, children’s therapists, etc.
  • Attend in-service and local child development trainings as well as in-house meetings.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all items related to children and/or personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director or Assistant Director.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

  • Maintain, organize and keep well-equipped work environment.
  • Monitors DRDP observations, Environmental Rating Scales, ASQ’s, and other student-oriented assessments including data entry, record keeping and reports.
  • Monitor daily student attendance through CareConnect. Review children’s daily sign-in and out sheets for accuracy.
  • Works with the Director as necessary to maintain mandated Title 22 and Title V ratios. Temporarily reassign staff to meet ratios if necessary.
  • Oversee classroom record keeping for food program, requesting supplies when needed.
  • Serves as the contact person on site for regulatory agencies, including Community Care Licensing and State Department of Education when designated by the Director or Assistant Director.
  • Supervise teaching staff and work/study students, ensuring that they are working constructively and are actively involved with the children or classroom preparation.
  • Understand and implement the written plan for emergencies as required. Provides information about emergency procedures to staff and parents.
  • Take the lead on modeling reflective practice to include resolving conflict among classroom. Require classroom staff to act intentionally with children, use nurturing behaviors and follow agreed upon strategies for challenging behaviors.

Required skills and experience:

  • Holds Site Supervisor Child Development Permit or higher.
  • A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day.
  • Ability to build relationships with families and coworkers and create a dynamic environment where play and learning happens.
  • Outstanding customer service skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and manage multiple situations effectively.
  • Practice respectful and quality phone etiquette.
  • Work confidentially with discretion.
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, thorough. Meet schedules and timelines.
  • Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary. Understand and follow oral and written directions.
  • Work independently with little supervision.

Salary

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $66,500.00 – $76,000.00 per year
