Lorena Bucholtz serves as the Human Resources Manager for LEAP, a nonprofit organization dedicated
to supporting children and families throughout Santa Barbara County. In her role, she oversees all
aspects of human resources cross three childcare centers and an administrative office. Her areas of
responsibility include HR operations, policy development, employee relations, and labor compliance.
With over 15 years of progressive HR experience spanning nonprofit, manufacturing, and healthcare
sectors, Lorena brings both strategic insight and hands-on expertise in building equitable, compliant,
and mission-aligned HR systems. She collaborates closely with the leadership team to strengthen
organizational culture, ensure compliance with California labor standards, and support LEAP’s
commitment to high-quality early education and family services.
Lorena holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business
Administration, along with SHRM-CP certification. Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, she is
recognized for her inclusive leadership style, analytical approach, and dedication to empowering staff
through fair and transparent HR practices that advance LEAP’s community impact.
