I’m Amber Favela, and I have been a member of the LEAP team for the past 12 years. I began my career as a Teacher Assistant, then advanced to Lead Teacher, and now, I’m excited to begin my role as a site supervisor. Throughout my journey, I have loved being a teacher and creating a safe, passionate, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn, grow, express, and thrive,

As both a wife and a mother of two, I have a special connection to LEAP because my own children attended the program. This personal experience has strengthened my appreciation for the caring community that LEAP provides to children, families, and staff (bringing everyone together). One of my greatest joys is seeing the lasting relationships built over the years. I love reconnecting with former students after many years and watching younger siblings, cousins, and even extended family members join the program. This has created generations of LEAP families.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family. We enjoy reading, gardening, and exploring creative crafts. We also like having family movie nights. My husband and I dig up retro 80s and 90s movies and play them for the children.
